Chaitra Kaddipudi, an 8th-grade student at GMPS Dhummavad, has always been a curious and creative
soul. Born and raised in the village of Dhummavad, she spends her free time playing, reading, and engaging in creative activities. Her natural curiosity has led her to experiment at home, often surprising her family with the new things she learns and creates.
WITHOUT EXPERIENCE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GAIN PERSPECTIVE
Chaitra’s journey with the Agastya Foundation has been transformative. Before joining the sessions, she was unsure about her future, especially regarding her dream of becoming a teacher. “I was very worried about how I should teach when I become a teacher,” Chaitra recalls. The hands-on activities and practical lessons conducted by Agastya have not only provided her with knowledge but also boosted her confidence significantly. “After participating in Agastya Foundation courses, the desire to become a teacher has arisen in me,” she says. One of the most impactful experiences for Chaitra was building a model of a bottomless well, a project that initially seemed challenging. With guidance from Agastya mentors and support from her family, she persevered through the difficulties. “It did not turn out as I had hoped at first, but with the help of Agastya mentors, I was able to complete it,” Chaitra explains. This experience sparked her curiosity further, leading her to explore and create more models at home. These activities not only deepened her understanding of scientific concepts but also increased her interest in related subjects, especially science. Chaitra also highlights the importance of group activities during Agastya sessions. Working in a team helped her develop her questioning skills and allowed her to explore different perspectives. “Discussing in groups increases our knowledge. By being part of the team, we can make different thoughts from our own and those of the team,”
she notes. This collaborative learning environment has been instrumental in her personal and academic growth,
helping her to overcome the challenges she faces in her daily studies.
ASPIRATION
Chaitra aspires to become a teacher, a goal that has been greatly influenced by her experiences with Agastya. The foundation’s practical approach to learning has given her the tools she needs to pursue this dream. “The courses conducted by Agastya Foundation are filled with curiosity, creativity, and self-confidence,” she says. Chaitra is determined to use the skills and knowledge she has gained to guide future students in the same way. With the support of Agastya, Chaitra is on a promising path to achieving her aspirations.
